Dr. Crawford is originally from Nashville, TN. She had the desire to become a pediatrician from a very young age, however her love of genetics would come much later. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Med from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2000. She then attended Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC where she received her medical degree in 2004. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2007. During her pediatrics residency, she developed a love for genetics. She completed her Clinical Genetics fellowship at UT Houston in 2009. She then joined the faculty at University of Texas Medical School at Houston as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the department of Genetics. There, she taught students at every level including medical students, pediatric residents, genetic counseling masters level students and molecular pathology residents. During her time at UT Houston, she became interested in Metabolic Genetics. Therefore, she completed a Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2012. She moved to Fort Worth to practice Metabolic Genetics at Cook Children's Hospital from 2012-2018. 

Areas of interest include chromosome disorders, metabolic disorders, lysosomal disorders and neurogenetics. 

Dr. Crawford is board certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in Clinical Genetics and Medical Biochemical Genetics. She is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. 

Dr. Crawford resides in The Woodlands and loves to spend time traveling the world with her husband. They have one furry child that is a Chiweenie dog named Harley.
